 Tree care and maintenance
  The staff of the Royal Botanic Gardens provides technical advice to conserve Sri Lankan historical and religious trees. Awareness programs on conservation of plants are conducted for students and other organizations. Also provides free advisory services on   Horticulture, Landscaping, Arboriculture and other related subjects.

 Education and training
  The Education Centre at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya conducts a Higher National Diploma Course, a National Diploma course, a Three Month Certificate Course and short term courses (ranging from one day to two weeks) on Floriculture and Landscape Gardening.

Three Month Certificate Course on Floriculture and Landscape Gardening and short courses on floriculture are also conducted at Hakgala and gampaha Botanic Gardens.

    
 Plant identification
 The staff of the gardens assists in identification of ornamental plants.
    
 Free guided tours
 Guided tours are organized for very important persons. Have to make a request from Director General of National Botanic Gardens.
    
 Plant sales centre
 Plant sales centre located near the main entrance is opened daily from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. for selling plants, seeds, dry plant materials and publications at a reasonable price.
